Inflatable Fabricattion: VMF

I was invited to be an artist for the 2022 VMF Winter Arts Fest, where I showcased meta/morph—an augmented reality and inflatable installation exhibited in front of the Vancouver Art Gallery.

The intention was to design an experience that existed in the material, but was extended into the digital, unbeknownst to viewers until activated. The experience explores how the digital and the material are often seen as opposing extremes of a binary, and eschewing that binary to uncover the fluidity of reality, and the symbiosis of the digital and the material existing in parallel.

With both the material and digital component working in tandem, meta/morph asked viewers to ground themselves in the present moment-space to investigate what exists beyond what the material eye can see, and how they can use the in-between to inform their relationships to the self, to others, and to the future.
